President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja ahead of her official inauguration next month.
The historic visit comes days after Badejo-Okusanya emerged as the first woman ever elected president of the NBA. She is set to become the association’s 33rd president, and only the second woman to lead the body after Priscilla Kuye, who served from 1991 to 1992.
She was accompanied by senior members of the legal profession, including Foluke Dada-Lawanson, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caleb University; Ezinwa Okoroafor, President of FIDA Nigeria; Hadiza Afegbua of the NBA Women Forum; and Ramlat Ridhwan of the BBold campaign team.
Badejo-Okusanya will officially take over from Afam Osigwe during the NBA Annual General Conference in Enugu, where she will begin a two-year tenure at the helm of Nigeria’s foremost legal association.
