The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Prof. Oluwole Banjo, accompanied by members of the university management team, paid a visit to the ongoing 120-hour Sew-A-Thon challenge in Ijebu Ode. The event, led by TASUED alumnus Koil Creation, has captured widespread attention as he aims to break a Guinness World Record by hand-sewing multiple outfits using only a needle and thread.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor commended Koil Creation for his exceptional dedication and creativity, describing his effort as an embodiment of the values TASUED instills in its students. He highlighted the significance of the sew-a-thon, not just as a record-breaking attempt, but as a celebration of African heritage and craftsmanship.
The management team expressed their admiration for the intricate outfits Koil Creation had completed so far, including a full Agbada, Danshiki, Kimono, and Long Gown—all of which reflect the rich cultural traditions of Africa.
“This initiative is a remarkable blend of talent, culture, and endurance,” Prof. Banjo remarked. “It serves as an inspiration to young creatives, showcasing what can be achieved through determination and passion.”
