The Federal Ministry of Education, through the Research, Innovation and Commercialisation Committee (RICC), in collaboration with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has commenced the Southwest Zonal National Commercialisation Intelligence and Ecosystem Engagement Workshop in Lagos.

The RICC, alongside TETFund, launched the Southwest Zonal Workshop from July 30 to 31, 2026, aiming to build a national commercialisation system. The two-day workshop, which started on Thursday, forms part of an initiative to develop a National Commercialisation Intelligence System, intended to connect research, industry and investors.

The Lagos engagement is the sixth in a series of six zonal workshops held across Nigeria, aimed at strengthening the National Research and Commercialisation Intelligence Ecosystem and accelerating the transformation of research outputs, innovations and inventions into commercially viable products, services, enterprises and industries.
