Lagos Deepens Partnership with GITEX to Strengthen Innovation and Digital Economy

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the state’s technology ecosystem through an expanded partnership with Kaoun International, the organisers of the globally renowned GITEX technology exhibition.

Speaking after a meeting at Lagos House, Marina, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed that he met with Ms. Trixie LohMirmand, Chief Executive Officer of Kaoun International, to discuss ways of deepening collaboration in positioning Lagos as Africa’s leading technology and innovation hub.

According to the Governor, the partnership aligns with the state’s vision of building a thriving digital economy that creates opportunities for startups, attracts global investment, and empowers young innovators.

“Our collaboration with GITEX reflects our commitment to creating an enabling environment for startups, attracting global investment, supporting innovation and opening up more opportunities for our young people,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He noted that strategic partnerships with global technology stakeholders remain critical to accelerating innovation, strengthening entrepreneurship, and expanding Lagos’ position as a preferred destination for technology-driven investments.

The Governor added that the state is committed to building a digital economy that benefits everyone, stressing that collaborations such as the one with GITEX are helping Lagos move closer to achieving that goal.

The renewed engagement comes as Lagos continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Africa’s fastest-growing technology ecosystems, attracting startups, investors and innovation-focused organisations from across the world.
