The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has issued an official update clarifying an operation carried out by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) around the Rochester Hall area of the campus.

The clarification followed concerns raised within the student community after news of the operation spread earlier in the day. In a memo addressed to "Fabulous FUNAABites," the union confirmed it was aware of the exercise and had taken immediate steps to establish the facts.

What the Union Says Happened

According to the memo, Students' Union leadership visited the Rochester Hall area following the incident to ascertain the facts and engage the relevant authorities directly.

The union stated that, based on the information made available to it, the operation was targeted at individuals suspected to be involved in drug-related activities. Importantly, the SUG confirmed that no FUNAAB student was arrested during the operation.
