Chimsom Chuka just became BBNaija Season 11's first Head of House — but a new twist means he doesn't get the lounge. Meanwhile, every housemate just found out their "real" nominations were fake all along.
Day one of BBNaija Season 11 is barely over, and Biggie has already handed out power, taken it back, and tricked the entire house into playing a game that didn't count.
Chimsom Wins the House's First Real Power
Chimsom Chuka, the Anambra-born pharmacist and actor, has emerged as the season's first Head of House, recording the fastest overall time in the opening HoH challenge to secure immunity from this week's eviction. The task split the house by gender, men against men, women against women, before the fastest performers from each side were compared directly.
Abi, the Osun-born chef and model, finished second overall and was named Deputy Head of House.
The Twist: Winning HoH Doesn't Get You the Lounge Anymore
Here's where this season immediately breaks from the format. In previous editions, the HoH winner moved straight into the exclusive Head of House suite. Not this year.
Chimsom keeps his immunity, full stop. But the actual lounge, the privacy, the comfort, the perks, went to someone else entirely. Biggie had Chimsom draw a name from a Lucky Dip Box to decide who would occupy the suite for the week.
Tram's name came out of the box. As part of the privilege, he was also allowed to invite one other housemate to share the space with him.
He chose Sheba.
So this week, the house has three separate outcomes to track: Chimsom holds the power and the safety, Tram holds the lounge, and Sheba is along for the ride, none of it decided by gameplay alone.
Then Biggie Tricked Everyone
Separately, and just as significantly, every housemate was called into the Diary Room to nominate two people for possible eviction. They went in believing it was real. It wasn't.
The entire exercise was a fake nomination round, orchestrated by Big Brother purely to see who housemates would target this early, with zero actual impact on this week's eviction. None of the housemates knew that at the time they made their picks.
That detail matters more than it might first seem. A nomination made under the belief that it's real tends to be more honest than one made strategically, once players understand how nominations affect their own optics in the house. Whatever picks came out of that Diary Room session are a genuine, unfiltered read on who's already eyeing who, unclouded by the usual social-game calculations.
Why This Matters Going Into Week One
Two separate power structures are now in play at once, who has immunity, and who has comfort, and neither maps cleanly onto the other. Add a house-wide fake-out that's already exposed early targets before the real game has even started, and BBNaija Season 11 has done more scene-setting in 48 hours than some full weeks of past seasons.
The real nominations, and the real eviction, are still to come. But the house has already learned one thing the hard way: nothing this season can be taken at face value, not even the game they think they're playing.
